Doctrinal Beliefs of Las Vegas Faith Center: Heroism
Tiger Todd; Founder (702) 433-7711
We believe. We believe in Heroism. We believe in building up people through Faith. We believe that the greatest book of Faith, the Holy Bible, was penned by those inspired by God in their generations for this purpose. We grow in Faith by studying the many human histories, parables, proverbs, and metaphors that communicate the deeper meanings of what it truly means to be both “human” and the “just.”
This is the foundation employed by the Las Vegas Faith Center in every study and in comparing and discerning human truths.
- We seek to fully understand God’s word by studying Bible scripture and comparing it with human experience.
- Our goal is to fulfill our place in the body of Christ, where Jesus Christ is the head, with every other member assuming their integral role and unique calling to fulfill in their generation.
- We believe that the goal of a human life is to become like our Heavenly Father through exemplifying his divine nature and the learning from Wisdom.
- We believe that trees should be judged by their fruit, and that “truth” must be demonstrated, not simply believed.
- We respect the rights of others to believe in God and worship in their own personal way. We believe the Las Vegas Faith Center is called to serve those who seek a deeper meaning to life, by helping people understanding the teachings of the Bible, including those of Jesus Christ, and that through these teachings, people will find answers to questions life asks of them.
- We believe that people are created in the image of God and that the divine family matters deeply to God. We believe that God loves people, and desires that they choose to live in harmony with Him and in community with each other.
- We believe that spiritual unity is to be expressed among true believers by acceptance of all people across ethnic, cultural, socio-economic, national, generational and gender lines.
- We believe that human beings enter the world only half-awake spiritually, and it is each person’s spiritual responsibility to birth the spirit of Christ that is within them. We believe it is the responsibility of each person to bring these two beings, the human self and the divine nature of Christ, together as one new super-man.
- We believe that God inspires all scripture, and that true doctrines are those that have the truth of God within them. It is our responsibility to first examine all scripture and choose those messages that speak to us from God, determine those that correspond to our calling from God, and then follow them.
- We believe that “sin” is when a person knows to do “good”, but does not do what they know they should do. This is the root to all tragedy in a person’s life. The way out of sin is to do those things that we know to do, precisely when we know that we should do it.
- We believe that God wants his family to live their lives in a state of peace and harmony.
- We believe that covetousness- desiring what someone else has, whether family, money, goods, or talents- is at the root of all evil.
- We believe in miracles in any form. We believe in the healing of sickness by the laying on of hands and anointing with oil, and through faith-filled words. We believe that Jesus Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father.
- We believe that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Christ that resides in all believers. This Spirit of Christ in each person is a part of the whole body of Christ. This spirit empowers people to lead divinely enriched lives, giving them spiritual gifts with which to accomplish the will of God in their own generation.
- We believe that when individuals align themselves to God’s purpose for them, it will impact their lives and cause them to live victoriously and with an abundance of peace and joy; likewise, it will result in loving and lasting relationships, strong families, a peaceful living environment and a satisfying life.
- We believe those who penned the Bible, including the teaching of Jesus Christ, were mentors to those in their generations, and their acts of heroism and faith in God’s word have had a profound impact upon millions of people living in the Twenty-First Century. We celebrate the courageous and self-sacrificing actions recorded throughout the Bible, from Moses to David, and Jesus to the Apostle Paul.
